USM-CVM consistent top 5 in board exam
KIDAPAWAN CITY (Sept. 11/NDBC) — In the 28th years of existence ofthe University of Southern Mindanao (USM) College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), it failed only onceto surpass the national passing rate, a USM official today said.Dr. Emerlie Okit, college ofveterinary medicine dean, told Radyo Bida Kidapawan, the DVM only failed once, in 1999,in beating national passing rate.It has been always on top 5 as far as passing rate was concerned, Okit said. On Wednesday,the university honored and recognizedthe 12 successful examinees.Now called Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Darling Aballe, Crystal Jade Arella, Hepzy Joy Cumaling, Cyrus Michael Degayo, Karen Mae Grande, Karen Junatas, Narelie Ibacarra, Alexis Lenizo, Karl Marx Loyola, Mary Ann Navales, Michael Valdez and Danica Trisha Viado, once again brought honor to Mindanao's premier state university.Okit said USM had a 48 percent passing rate or 17 percent higher than the national passing rate. USM-Kabacan ranked fourth this year with University of the Philippines on top followed by Central Luzon University in second and Central Mindanao University, third.Okit said because of its consistent performance and maintaining its above national passing rate,USM has received the prestigiousCenter of Excellence Award from the Commission on Higher Education.
