COTABATO CITY (Jan.
17) – A baby and two others were killed when a wayward passenger bus rammed on
a tractor pulling a trailer loaded with passengers before hitting a tree in
Aleosan, North Cotabato at 10 a.m. Friday.
Inspector Jorlito
Patrona, Aleosan police chief, said 76-year-old Clarita Sencerino was killed on
the spot when a tree branch pierced through the bus windshield and hit her,
while two others, a seven-month infant named Regine Earl Samson of Mlang, North
Cotabato and bus conductor Danilo Guimbangan of Manarapan, Carmen, North
Cotabato died while being rushed to a hospital in Kidapawan City.
Weena Bus
driver Loreto Villarama and 19 others were injured in the accident, now
undergoing medication in different hospitals.
Patrona said investigation
showed that Villarama suddenly lost control of the bus steering wheel at 10
a.m. and rammed on an improvised cargo trailer from behind.
The tractor
was loaded with agricultural products and hitch hikers.

swerved after hitting the vehicle it was trailing before colliding head-on with
big mango tree along the highway.
Patrona said
the bus was bound for Cotabato City from the nearby Pikit municipality, also in
