(UPDATE) Magnitude 7.2 quake hits Sulu, Celebes Sea

KORONADAL CITY - A magnitude 7.2 hit Sulu in Southern Philippine Tuesday afternoon, the state volcanology office reported today.In a bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the quake's epicenter, which came at 2:13 p.m., was traced aced 223 kilometers east of Tongkil, Sulu.An aftershock measured at Magnitude 4.9 was recorded by Phivolcs 12 minutes later and it was traced 236 kilometers east of Siasi, Sulu. It has a depth of 536 kilometers and tectonic in origin.No casualty or damage to property was reported on two tremors.Intensity 2 was felt in Gen. Santos City during the first quake and Intensity 2 was felt in Mati, Davao Oriental during the second tremor.
