'Tribal village' to open in ARMM compound during Ramadhan
COTABATO CITY - The successful tribal village inside the compound of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) last yearwill rise anew ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadhan, a tourism official said.Sec. Marites Manguindra of theARMM Department of Tourism said the tribal village will form part of the Ramadhan celebration next month.The project, started last year, aimed to show the culture and history of various tribal groups in the region.As in last year, this year's tribal village will featureChildren's Day, Indigenous Arts and Handicrafts Exhibits, Zumba,
Hataw, and Yoga Session.
A series of plays depicting various culture and arts of tribal groups are among the highlights, Manguindra said.Among them were presentations fromMaguindanaon, Tausug, Sama, Maranao, Yakan and Teduray groups.
The first tribal village was opened last year as part of the 25th foundation anniversary of the region.This year's theme is 100 Days of Journey in Understanding the Culture
