Tantangan LGU to motoristsand Observe speed limit, save lives, even your own life

TANTANGAN, South Cotabato - After a series of avoidablehighway accidents that claimed lives and maimed people, the local government of Tantangan has passed and started implementing speed limit ordinance here.A speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour (kph) is being implemented in the town proper while not more than80 kph is allowed in other parts of the highway linking Tacurong City-Tantangan and Koronadal City in South Cotabato.Tantangan Vice Mayor andSangguniang Bayan presiding officer Timee Joy-Gonzales the speed limit ordinance simply aimed at ending highway accident and save lives.She said observing speed limit can save lives.Tantangan Traffic Supervisor Edgardo Vega road signages and reminders will be put up along the highway to remind motorists of the ordinance that penalizes violators.Tantangan is the 5th town in South Cotabato to have speed limit ordinance. Others are Tupi, Polomolok, Surallah and T'boli.
