Suicide cases discussed in DOH XII ‘Dialogue’
COTABATO CITY -- Suicide and how to deal
with it was the focus Monday, March 5, of the Monday Dialogue at the Department
of Health XII Montañer Hall here.
Dr. Adimelea Gangoso, who spoke about Suicide
First Aid Guidelines to DOH XII employees, said that suicide attempts are higher
among females, but more males actually commit suicide.
Depression and fears are common signs
that a person is suicidal, Gangoso said, as she also explained the changes in
the behavior of a person who is attempting to commit suicide.
Monday’s lecture was meant to raise
awareness about suicide and how to handle a person who is attempting to commit
suicide.
Gangoso said assistance and guidance is
available to those who are suffering from depression and contemplating suicide.
