Sueno tells mayorsand Build alliance to make semblance of governance
MANILA -- Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno challenged mayors to build alliance in order to make semblance of governance as he stressed the need for cooperation in terms of peace and order and social development in all local government units in the country. Several times, Pres. Duterte said that there was no semblance of governance ang mga mayors natin kaya hindi mahuli-huli ang mga criminal elements dahil hindi nagko-cooperate ang mga mayors although karamihan sa kanila ay nag-improved na dahil sa respect at takot nila kay Pres. Duterte kaya this time, i-gather natin ang mga mayors through this Sulong Pilipinas in order to urge and inspire them to unite as one,” Sueno said. The Sulong Pilipinas LGU Consultations on Peace and Order, and Social Development congregated all the mayors of ARMM, Visayas, Mindanao, Northern and Southern Luzon in its three-day activity (Sept. 20, 21 and 22nd).The event highlighted consultative workshops and general instructions with the local chief executives (LCEs) through the presence of Sueno. In the previous encounter, Sueno pronounced that the event would be an avenue where he would reiterate the government reforms in addressing the particular problems and solutions for each municipalities. We will expound to them the advantage of the Public-Private Partnership for the People Initiative for Local Governments project that spearheads stronger partnership between local government units (LGUs) and the private in the provision of infrastructure and social services that will be carried out by the local sectors.” he said.Sueno was confident that the consultative workshop was another success to government’s campaign for peace and order and social development. Since then, natutuwa ako dahil marami na sa ating local chief executives (LCEs) especially sa Mindanao, Northern and Southern Luzon are very much interested in the drive of our programs.” (PNA)
