Robbers of Palawan pawnshop in SoCot town charged
STO NINO,
South Cotabato – Police here have filed charges of robbery with homicide
Tuesday against three men believed to have carried out the daring robbery at Palawan
Pawnshop here.
Chief
Inspector Joel Fuerte, Sto. Nino police chief, refused to name the three
suspects. He told Happy FM Koronadal that with the solid and vital evidences against them, the police had a strong
case.
The three men remained at large and are the subject of intensive police manhunt, he said.
Fuerte said
several witnesses have executed sworn statements to back up the case against the
suspects who used a motorbike in fleeing with about P100,000 worth of jewelry.The robbery took place after one of the gunmen shot dead pawnshop security guard Reynaldo Tabarlong, 23.
The robbery occurred
at past 1 p.m. on January 7 while few people were transacting business with the
pawnshop located at the town’s public market.
Meanwhile, the
Sto. Nino police also filed charges Tuesday against Muzid Alamada, a 22 year
old man who was arrested with about 116.3 kilos of suspected methamphetamine
hydrochloride in his home in Bararangay Ambalgan.
Five others
who were also arrested with him in his home after an early morning raid were
yet to be charged.
Chief
Inspector Fuerte said it was only Alamada who was charged for violating RA 9165
or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 because of strong evidence against him.”
We are still
building the case against five others who were in the house of Alamada during
the raid,” Fuerte told Happy FM Koronadal.
