Reward for information on location of jail escapees offered anew

COTABATO CITY - Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu reiterated Thursday his promise of cash incentive for information leading to the capture of six escapees from the Maguindanao provincial jail here last week.Jail guards killed an inmate who, along with six others, bolted from their cells at the Maguindanao provincial jail here before dawn May 24.The escapee who was killed was identified asMike Tungkayo Balitoc, who was being prosecuted for a murder case.Six others --- Dante Sandigan Kadatuan, Guli Utba Mangandong, Sindatuk Ampatua Saddam Lucan Montani, Aminodin Maliga, and Turagsak Sabal --- made a daring dash to one side of the jail compound and scaled its walls as guards fired at Balitoc whom they eventually neutralized for refusing to yield. My office will provide reward to informants who can help locate these escapees, Mangudadatu told this news outfit Thursday morning.All six escapees were clamped down at the Maguindanao provincial jail at Pedro Colina Hill in Cotabato City for heinous offenses, including drug trafficking and armed robbery.Supt. Aldrin Gonzalez, PRO-12 spokesperson, said personnel of the Cotabato City police are now trying to locate them with the help of barangay officials and intelligence agents of units under the Army’s 6thInfantry Division.The jailbreak was the fourth in about ten years.The office of Mangudadatu is presently constructing a new and larger reformatory facility in Buluan town in the second district of Maguindanao.
