MANILA (PNA) -- The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday said a mixture of sunny and rainy weather will continue to prevail across the country.PAGASA weather forecaster Shaira Nonot said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan due to the presence of intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).ITCZ, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.Nonot said the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will continue to experience sunny to partly cloudy skies with possible isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms or convections. In its weekly outlook forecast, by Tuesday the second wave of southwest monsoon or habagat may start and is expected to affect Mindanao that will likely to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over the area until Wednesday (August 5).By Thursday (August 6), a tropical cyclone with international name TS Soudelor” is expected to enter the eastern boarder of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and will be given the local name Hanna.”The said weather disturbance will also enhance the habagat that will bring light to moderate rains over Palawan, southern Visayas and Mindanao until Friday (August 7). Within this period, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country including Metro Manila. In its advisory, PAGASA said light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning as the fisherfolks are safe to venture into the seas.
