PRO-12 gets police vehicles, equipment from Abayalde
GEN SANTOS CITY - Police Director General Oscar Abayalde on Monday night turned over police patrol vehicles and operational equipment to provincial and police offices in Region 12.In his first visit to PRO-12, Abayalde turned over the equipment and vehicles to Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, PRO-12 regional director in ceremonies witnessed by police officers from provincial and city offices.The equipment include five units of light patrol personnel carriers (Toyota Hi-Lux 4x4),10 units of Global Positioning
System (GPS),20 units Night Vision Goggles with complete accessories, 60 units Finger Print Kit and 15 units 7.62 mm Light Machine Gun (NEGEV) with complete
accessories.
Morlaes said the distribution of new
equipment intended for tactical and maneuver units is in accordance with the
modernization program of the PNP aimed to enhance PNP’s capability to move,
shoot, communicate and investigate.
All these equipment are intended to be used
for the safety of our policemen in the field during police operations to fight
and defend not only themselves but the community they sworn to serve and
protect, Morales said. These will surely serve as tools to increase
further our effort in every police operations especially in our and campaign against
illegal drugs, terrorism, and criminality in urban and rural setting, he
added.
