PRDP frontloads P1.9-B infra projects in Region 12
KORONADAL
CITY- Investments for big-ticket agricultural infrastructure projects from the
Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) have
seen a surge in SOCCSKSARGEN.
Region
12 has 50 subprojects worth P1.9 billion (in various stages of implementation)
under the Intensified Building-Up of Infrastructure and Logistics for
Development (I-BUILD) component or infrastructure development component of
DA-PRDP.
Of the
provinces in SOCCSKSARGEN, Sarangani gained the biggest infra projects with a

the region tallied 12 completed infra subprojects worth P215 million.
Among
these sub-projects include the three P52-M farm-to-market roads in Isulan
Sultan Kudarat and the PRDP’s first ever potable water system in the country in
Tampakan, South Cotabato worth P4.9-M, Engr. Milagros Casis, regional
executive director of the Department of Agriculture 12, said.
Sultan
Kudarat has eight completed subprojects worth P121.1 million four in South Cotabato worth P69 million and one in
Sarangani worth P28.9 million.
Despite
not having completed subprojects, farmers in North Cotabato will still reap
better harvest and increased income due to the completion of four
farm-to-market road (FMR) subprojects worth P112.5 million.
Sarangani
awaits four more FMRs worth P157.5 million, while South Cotabato has two on-going infra
subprojects (P92.5-M), and Sultan Kudarat with one (P59.9-M).
Region
12 ranked fourth in Mindanao in the accessing of PRDP I-BUILD sub-projects.
Region
11 got the biggest chunk of the pie with P2.9-B. Region 9 placed second (P2.3-B),
followed by Region 10 (P2.09-B), Region 12 (P1.98-B), Region 13 (P1.8-B), and
ARMM (P1.09-B).
