COTABATO CITY –
Careful in buying food supplements.”

These are the
words of advice from Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr, regional secretary of the Department
of Health in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DOH-ARMM).

Food
supplements are like vitamins, it has no therapeutic benefits,” Sinolinding
told DXMS-AM radio Bida.

Sinoliding
reminded the public not to subscribe to food supplements whose manufacturers
and distributors claim it can cure cancer, high blood, diabetes and other
ailments.

However, he
quickly added that there’s nothing wrong with taking food supplements because
it gives no side effects. Just make
sure it has the approval of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA),” he added.
