PDEA-Army arrest Maguindanao village official for shabu, guns possession
COTABATO CITY - A Maguindanao village official is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after he was arrested in a joint anti-narcotics agents-military operations in Datu Abdullah Sangkitown over the weekend.Considered high value target, Norodin Kasan Sangki alias Datu Nouri Sangki, village councilman of Barangay Maganding, Datu Abdullah Sangki town inMaguindanao was arrested by joint agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement AGency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(PDEA-ARMM) and elements of the 33rd Infantry Battalion.PDEA-ARMM Regional Director Felimon Ruiz said the raid was conducted at past 5 a.m. based on the search warrants issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 13 Judge Bansawan Ibrahim.Ruiz said the PDEA team was aided by elements of the33rd Infantry Battalion under battalioncommander Lt. Colonel Ricky.Ruiz said the raiding team seized shabu worth P700,000and high powered firearms from Sangki who did not resist arrest.The PDEA regional director also said Sangki is also facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and explosives. Ruiz said the village official had been under surveillance for a time due after he was tagged as the leading illegal drug supplier in Maguindanao and Cotabato City.
