PDEA-ARMM agents nab Cotabato City village council aspirant for shabu possession
COTABATO CITY – A candidate for village council member was arrested by Philippine
Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives during anti-drug operation early today.
Government
forces recovered from Darping 83 sachets of shabu with estimated market value
of more than P60,000, bank documents and other valuables.

Azurin, regional director of PDEA in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
(PDEA-ARMM), said anti-narcotics operatives, backed by soldiers and police,
arrested former village chairman Alladin Matabalao Darping who isrunning for Barangay Kagawad in his residence in Sitio Kapinpilan,
Kalanganan Mother, Cotabato City at 1 a.m.
Azurin said
the operation was conducted after two weeks of surveillance operations against
Darping who did not resist when lawmen presented him the search warrant issued
by a local court.
He is now
detained at PDEA-ARMM lock-up cell facing charges for violation of Republic Act
9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act).

Darping came a day after police and military personnel arrested another
candidate for village council, Haakon Blah Michael Sinsuat, for illegal
possession of firearms.
Authorities seized a
.45 cal pistol from Sinsuat who is running for Barangay Kagawad of Bagua 3,
Cotabato City.
