PDEA agents arrest alleged couple drug peddler

COTABATO CITY – Joint police, Army and anti-narcotics operatives arrested Tuesday a couple involved in high profile illegal drug peddling in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said today.Juvenal Azurin, regional director of PDEA in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), said the raid, covered by search warrant issued Regional Trial Court Branch 13, resulted to the arrest of Kutin Guiamel alias Kutin, 52 and Jenny Abdullah, 37 both of Barangay Makir, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. The couple is our high value target and both are active drug group members operating in Cotabato City, Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat provinces, Azurin told reporters.Azurin said operating units of the Army’s 90thInfantry Battalion, Datu Odin Sinsuat PNP and PDEA-ARMM recovered four huge sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of Php100,000, bank documents believed to be containing drug transactions, shabu and an unlicensed 9mm LUGER MODSTER-KG9 sub-machinegun with ammnution.Now detained at PDEA-ARMM lock up cell in Cotabato City, the couple is facing charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Illegal Possessions of Firearm and Ammunitions).
