NPAs abduct 2 soldiers in Sultan Kudarat
KORONADAL CITY – As the communist New Peoples’ Army declared it will withdraw its unilateral ceasefire with the Duterte administration, armed communist rebels seized to soldiers in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat Wednesday, police said today.
Supt. Romeo Galgo Jr, speaking for police in Region 12, said the Columbio police reported that two soldiers, Sgt. Solaiman Calocop and PFC Samuel Garay of 39th Infantry Battalion based in Sitio Lamales, Barangay Telefas, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat were on board a motorbike when flagged down by undetermined number of NPAs at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Our police in Columbio is helping the military in the manhunt operation, Galgo told Radyo Bida.
Columbio is a town bordering North Cotabato and Davao del Sur where communist guerillas operate.
The NPA has not issued any statement on the incident.
