Norala village wins SoCot Dungog Day
KORONADAL CITY
- Barangay BS Aquino in Norala, South Cotabato bested 198 other barangays in
the province after it won the top prize in this year’s Dungog sa Barangay
Award.”
The plaque of
recognition was given during the Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay Day” at the
South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center Friday.
Lailyn Ortiz,
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) South Cotabato provincial director,
said Barangay BS Aquino will also receive P400,000 worth of projects as additional incentives. Before
releasing the cash incentives, the winning barangays must first submit an
approved resolution of their proposed projects, we have a list of eligible
projects,” Ortiz told DXOM FM Koronadal, Saturday.
Included in
the top six barangays with exemplary services were Lopez Jaena also in Norala,
Poblacion in Tampakan, Kusan in Banga, Polonuling in Tupi and Cannery in
Polomolok.
Officials of
these villages received P350,000 P300,000 P250,000 P200,000 P150,000 and
P100,000 worth of projects, respectively.
For winning
the top prize in three consecutive years, Barangay Poblacion in Tupi was
conferred with Hall of Fame Award and P500,000 worth of projects.
Dungog sa
Barangay” was patterned after the Seal of Good Housekeeping” project of DILG.
Recipient of
the award were chosen based on good planning, fiscal management, transparency
and accountability, and valuing of performance monitoring.
