NBI-12 director tagged as protector of shabu lab
MANILA - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said NBI Region 12 Regional Director Eric Isidoro has been relieved of his post for his alleged involvement in illegal drug trade, radio and on-line news reported today.Radio reports said NBI Director Dante Gierran has confirmed that Isidoro, currently NBI-12 chief and former head of the agency's anti-illegal drugs division, has been relieved.Gierran said an initial investigation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) showed that Isidoro was allegedly the protector of shabu laboratory in Catanduanes that NBI agents and PNP raided on Nov. 26.He said the NBI international affairs division is now conducting further and separate probe.The NBI director also warned all his subordinates they will be immediately relieved once they are proven to have been involved in illegal drug.Isidoro, who has not issued any statement on the allegations, is restricted at the NBI national headquarters.
