MILF's Camp Darapanan hosts BIAF Officers' Assembly

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao -- Members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) gathered here today for a general assembly aimed at updating the rebel group's military arm on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).Von Al Haq, spokesperson of BIAF, said theBIAF Officers' Assembly will last until tomorrow.He said the gathering will also improve camaraderie among Moro fighters and the opportunity for the troops on the ground to understand the peace process.Al Haq said the BIAF members have traveled all the way from the base camps across Mindanao and proper coordination with the government and MILF coordinating committee on the cessation of hostilities is is place. They travel here without firearms, Al Haq said as provided for by the GPH-MILF ceasefire mechanism.
