Former President Ferdinand Marcos was quietly and discreetly buried at Libingan ng mga Bayani at past noon today, soliciting condemnation from various sectors after the event was broadcast on television and radio. Riza Hontiveros said in a television interview.Soldiers in green and white uniform were to give Marcos a 21-man gun salute.Militant groups groups have rushed to the Libingan ng mga Bayani to protest to no avail as a throng of police and soldiers blocked anyone, including the media, from entering the burial site.The Marcos remains was airlifted by military helicopter from the family owned air-conditionedMausoleum to Libingan ng mga Bayani. We were shocked by the brazenness and shamelessness of the Marcoses to fool the Filipinos, Martial Law victim Neri Colmenaries said in a media interview.Cherry Cobarrubias of Marcos loyalist for God and people, said the burial was announced by the family on Wednesday but there was no confirmation until today. We loved to be there but we are not prepared, she said. Some loyalists are outside the Libingan ng mga Bayani.Anti-Marcos groups were holding protest march in various parts of the metropolis.A 21-man gun salute was rendered in honor of Marcos as a soldier at 12:15 as military choppers hover above the Libingan.On Nov. 8, the Supreme Court declared that no obstacle in Marcos burial at Libingan ng mga Bayani.Motion for reconsideration was filed by anti-Marcos groups that the SC is yet to decide on.
