Magnitude 6.8 quake jolts southern Mindanao

DAVAO CITY - A magnitude 7.2 quake rocked southern Mindanao Friday afternoon with its epicenter traced some 30 kilometers from Sarangani town in Davao Occidental.

It was later downgraded by Phivolcs to Magnitude 6.8.

It was tectonic in origin, the Phivolcs said.
