Magnitude 5.4 quake hits Gen. Santos City, Koronadal City

KORONADAL CITY
(Aug. 6) – A magnitude 5.4 earthquake hit Gen. Santos City and South Cotabato
Saturday but state volcanologists reported no casualties or damages to
properties.

In a statement sent to DXOM-AM Radyo Bida, the Philippine
Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake which came at
5:08 p.m. was tectonic in origin and traced 15 kilometers east of Gen. Santos
City and a depth of 24 kilometers.
