Lightning kills fisherman, hurts 2 others in Sultan Kudarat town

KALAMANSIG, Sultan Kudarat - A fisherman was killed while two of his companions were injured when a lightning struck while they were on high seas Monday night, a villageofficial said.Village Councilman Jess Ali of Barangay Pag-asa, Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, identified the fatality as Centino Obrero who died on the spot due to burns in different parts of his body.His companions, Danny Lepae and Tajerol Lepae, survived but with injuries, Councilor Ali told the local police here.The wounded fishermen managed to bring the pumpboat they were riding in and sought help from villagers in Purok Pag-asa. As soon as they reached the shore, villagers rushed them toLebak Doctors Hospital.All the victims were residents of Barangay Pag-asa.Fishing in high seas is one of the sources oflivelihood among residents of this coastal town.
