Lanao del Sur PPOC undergo mandatory performance audit
COTABATO CITY --- The Lanao del Sur provincial peace and order council will focus on more programs complementing normalization efforts for conflict and calamity-stricken areas.Members of the inter-agency PPOC told reporters Wednesday they have also assured to continue supporting government programs meant to address violent religious extremism during an audit of the council’s performance last November 11.The evaluation conference was held at the social hall of the Lanao del Sur provincial capitol in Marawi City, the administrative and political capital of Lanao del Sur province. The inter-agency PPOC has current programs complementing efforts of rebuilding Marawi City from devastation as a result of the conflict there from May 23 to October 16, 2017 that combined Maute and Abu Sayyaf terrorist instigated.The November 11 audit of the performance of the PPOC was initiated jointly by the Lanao del Sur provincial government and the office of the Department of the Interior and Local government in the province.DILG’s most senior official in Lanao del Sur, Mc Millan Lucman, Supt. Jamal Adiong of the Marawi City police and representatives from the office of Gov. Soraya Bedjoria Alonto-Adiong were present in the performance audit event.The activity was initiated in compliance with the Memorandum Circular 2018-120 from the DILG central office that enjoins municipal, city and provincial peace and order councils to undergo periodic performance audits to determine efficiency.Members of the Lanao del Sur PPOC are confident of a good outcome of the evaluation of the council’s performance.
