Koronadal poor kids turn-over wallet with cash to cops
KORONADAL CITY - Two elementary school children who ask moneyfrom people in the city night market showed they only beg and do not claim what is not theirs.The two children, Jessica Musa, 9 and Soraida Bantilan, 8, were begging for coins at the city night marketwhen they both found a pouch, according to Police Officer 3 Arnel Falcis of Koronadal City Traffic Office.The two girls, residents of Purok Kings, Barangay General Paulino Santos and studying at Marbel I Central Elementary School, said they found the wallet in front of Siomai stall.Falcis said he found the girls' act very noble and heartwarming. Falcis learned Musa managed to beg a total of P35 while Bantillan collected P75 from begging.The girls, according to Musa, begs so they will have something to buy for food in coming to school. Despite their being poor, they did not show interest in keeping the wallet, Falcis told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida Koronadal. Falcis said the amount may only be P400 but what touched him was the girls' decision to turn over the pouch to the authorities.He posted the girls' act to social media that went viral.Fe Lita Yparraguire, the girls' school principal, was also elated at their honesty. She said the two will be rewarded during flag raising ceremonies Monday.
