Koronadal pedicab driver offers day-long free-ride on his natal day

KORONADAL CITY --– A 44-year-old pedicab driver here is offering a day-long free
ride to anybody within the city as he celebrated his natal day today.

This is my
way of saying thanks for all the blessings and for the gift of life, Dante
Letimas, a resident of Barangay Poblacion here, told w and//www.ndbcnews.com.ph www.ndbcnews.com.ph .

Letimas, a
father of two, has been a pedicab driver the past 15 years, is a pastor of Born
Again Christian sect.

Last Christmas
and New Year 2017, he provided free ride to about 200 persons in two-day trips
from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is my
‘panata’ (vow) every Christmas Day and New Year’s day, Letimas said. On his natal day, he has ferried about 60 passengers
as of 11 a.m.

Letimas, who
operates a pedicab with body number MTOP 2808, said he has been doing this for
three straight years, including this year.
This is only once a year, and my way of saying thank you to riding
public for patronizing my pedicab, Letimas said, adding he does not personally
know his passengers.

A handwritten
notice is posted inside his pedicab that reads Free ride, my birthday today To
God be d glory!

Letimas who
claimed he earns an average of P400 to P500 a day said he is happy making other
people happy through his free services to fellow human. I target about a 100
persons to transport for free on my birthday, he said in separate interview by DXOM-AM Radyo Bida Koronadal.

Masaya ako,
magaan kalooban ko na nakapasaya ng ibang tao, Letimas said, adding that a gas
station offered him full tank fuel for his services on his birthday.

emulate you), passenger Helen Villa Vasquez, a private employee, said of
Letimas. May your tribe increase, your simple act of generosity will return a
