Koronadal, Iloilo now sister cities
KORONADAL CITY
(Sept. 15/NDBC) -- The city governments of Koronadal and Iloilo will sign a
memorandum of agreement to establish sisterhood ties aimed at sharing ideas, governance
and best practices.
Koronadal City
Councilor Junnette Hurtado said Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog together
with some local officials of Iloilo City will visit Koronadal City to sign the sisterhood agreement.
The signing is
on October 3 as one of the highlights of
the 5-day 14th Charter Anniversary of Koronadal City.
Hurtado said the
sisterhood agreement will be beneficial to Koronadal City because it can now
learn better from Iloilo City’s ideas and best practices.
Hurtado who
also chairs the Committee on Tourism and Development of the Sangguniang
Panglungsod said Koronadal can learn from a more progressive city like Iloilo.
Hurtado said it
is but proper to solidify the friendship between the two cities because
majority of the people of Koronadal City are Ilonggos and descendants of
settlers from Iloilo.
I am happy because
(the ordinance) was unanimously approved by the Sangguniang Panglungsod, giving
the authority to the city mayor to sign the agreement,” Hurtado told DXOM-Koronadal
Monday. (NDBC)
