Koronadal ex-worker arrested in anti-illegal drug operation
KORONADAL CITY - A former worker of Koronadal City government under close police watch due to his alleged involvement in illegal drug trade was arrested by highway patrol officials Wednesday.Chief Inspector Harold Carino, South Cotabato Highway Patrol Group chief, said Jose Dexter Muega, 45, of Zone 2, Koronadal City was arrested at a highway checkpoint in Barangay Morales at about 11 a.m.Carino told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida Koronadal that his office has received a tip from concerned citizen about an on coming blue motorbike from nearby Tantangan town in South Cotabato with prohibited substance.Quickly, HPG and Koronadal City PNP put up a checkpoint and arrested the suspect with several sachet of shabu. Supt. Barney Condes, Koronadal City police director, said Muega was in the city police drug watchlist but did not surface to police office during Oplan Tokhang. Seized from him were suspected shabu in sachets with an estimated market value of P150,000, including shabu paraphernalia.Carino said Muega has a companion who alighted from the motorbike before he was flagged down.After he was removed from the city government, Muega worked as dicer of cows and carabaos in the city as his source of livelihood. His sideline was illegal drug pushing.
