Kidapawan robbers strike anew, take P30,000 cash
KIDAPAWAN CITY
(Sept. 8/NDBC) - As if taunting authorities, robbers here continue to victimize
residents despite local government and police efforts to curb the rash of crimes against property.
Robbers struck
anew separately here in the past 48 hours, carting away more than P30,000 cash
and P15,000 worth of assorted jewelry.
Renato
Suminguit, 47, of Anggie Subdivision, Kidapawan City, told police investigators
his variety store along Villamarzo street was ransacked by still unidentified men.
The suspects
destroyed the store padlock and took his Megavision Karaoke unit with Sakura speakers
worth P16,000.
Also, Farmer Manuel
Tamayo, 62 of Purok 5, Barangay Lanao, found out his house was burglarized at
about 4 p.m. Sunday.
He told police
his house help Ramilia Babia left home at 2 p.m. and went to the city market.
Upon her return two hours later, she found the backdoor forcibly opened and the
master’s in disarray.
Tamayo lost
P15,000 worth of jewelry and P13,000 cash.
Last week, a
public school teacher’s home was also ransacked by unidentified men.
Alarmed by the
rash of robbery incident, Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista ordered the
local police to contain crime against property. (NDBC)
