Kidapawan cops' guns sealed
KIDAPAWAN CITY - All firearms of members of the Kidapawan City PNP, both long and short, had been sealed with tape to prevent police officers from firing them to welcome Christmas Day and New Year.Supt. Franklin Anito, Kidapawan City police chief, said the taping of guns' nozzle was performed in compliance with the directive from PNP national headquarters. While these guns are sealed, the police can still fire it during legitimate operations or during performance of duties, Anito said in Filipino.Administrative charges will be filed against policemen who used their guns indiscriminately to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year. Anito said police officers in the city will work 24/7 during Christmas and New Year's celebration. We have no holiday break, he said, adding that police are public servants and must serve the public, holiday or no holiday. He then urged the public to help the police in maintaining law and order in the city.
