Ibutigen rice farmers thank DA-Maguindanao for continued assistance

Farmers of Barangay Ibutigen in Sultan Kudarat,
Maguindanao expressed gratitude for the harvest techonoly shared to them the by
Department of Agriculture-Maguindanao in the recent Jollirice Harvest Festival.
The activity was organized by the Sultan Kudarat
Municipal Agriculture Office under Munisipal Agricultural Officer Guiapar
Esmail with assistance from DA-Maguindanao as part of its High Yielding
Technology Adoption project.
Salik Warao, president of the Pignarasa Irrigators’
Association of Barangay Ibutigen, said DA-Maguindanao under Provincial
Agricultural Officer Daud K. Lagasi has always been supportive to the farmers
in their efforts to improve production by sharing valuable technology.
MAO Esmail said the harvest festival planted to hybrid
rice covers 6 hectares. Despite grain bug attacks, Esmail said they were still
able to harvest no less than 6 metric tons per hectare.
Present during the harvest festival was Dr. Ronjamin
Maulana, DA-Maguindanao provincial operations chief, who thanked the farmers
for their diligence in providing good quality rice for the market. (Radzmia A.
