FLASHand 5 die in DOS, Maguindanao ambush

COTABATO CITY - At least five persons were killed in an ambush along the national highway in Barangay Dulangan, Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS), Maguidanao Monday afternoon, police said.Senior Inspector Lindsy Sinsuat, DOS town police chief, said the ambush happened at about 4:30 p.m. He said the report was sketchy.In his FB posts,Cotabato City Councilor Bruce Matabalao said one of the victims wasHadja Bai Lilang Ayunan, his aunt.The identities of the other victims were not yet available as of posting. Policeinvestigation is still going on. DXMS Radyo Bida, in a flash report, said four persons, a male and threefemales and a child,were seen lying dead inside the red Toyota Innova after it was ambushed by unidentified gunmen.Witnesses said the vehicle was driven by a woman. They said an unidentified vehicle was tailing the Innova with conduction sticker YS 3539. Suddenly, the suspects opened fire on the red vehicle.After the first volley of fire, the Innova hit the roadsiderailings and was stopped by a large stone at the road side.The gunmen reportedly alighted from their vehicle and fired more shots on the victims.Two others were injured and were rushed to the hospital.
