KIDAPAWAN CITY -- A mayoralty candidate in the 2013 local electionshere has died due to kidney failure, his brother today said.Businessman turned politician Engr. ErnidoGantuanco died at 3 a.m. today in a hospital in Tagum City, according to Kidapawan City Vice Mayor Rodolfo Gantuangco.VM Gantuangco said his brother was rushed to the hospital on Mondaybut attending physicians failed to save his life. Gantuangco ran for city mayor of Kidapawan but lost toMayor Joseph Evangelista.Vice Mayor Gantuangco said his brother will be laid to rest on Saturday in Tagum City.He alsoappealed to the supporters of his brother for prayers for the repose of his soul.
