Davao cops kill security guard from Cotabato City
COTABATO CITY - A security guard from Cotabato City who works in Davao City was killed in an alleged shootout with police authorities during drug buy bust operations Monday evening.SunstarDavao reported the shootout occurred in Purok 1, Barangay 19-B, Bajada, Davao City.San Pedro Police Station commander Ronald Lao saidas Jake Richard Artieda Ronimo, 27, who hails from Cotabato City, resisted arrest.Ronimo, a transient resident of Davao, in fact tried to set off a fragmentation grenade during the buy bust at 11 p.m. near Redemptorist ChurchLao said police officers in civilian clothes posed as buyers to confirm the security guards alleged transaction. After confirming Ronimo was into illegal drug trade, police conducted the buy bust.Lao said Ronimo pulled a grenade from under his pillow when lawmen raided his home, forcing policemen to shot him in his hand and the bullet pierced through his head.The cadaver of the suspect is now at the Angel Funeral Homes.Recovered from the suspect were two sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride orshabu with street value of P4,000 and the P1,000 mark money.The Scene of the Crime Operatives also recovered from the crime scene one MK2 grenade and three fired cartridges of caliber .9mm pistol.
