Cotabato City's top 3 most wanted man falls
COTABATO CITY –-
Police here neutralized Wednesday night the Top 3 most wanted person in the
city after he resisted arrest during the serving of search warrant in the outskirt
village of Kalanganan.
Senior Supt.
Rolly Octavio, Cotabato City police director, identified the wanted person as
Taingan Waris of Barangay Kalanganan 2, Cotabato City.Waris has been
facing multiple murder and frustrated multiple murder charges, according to
Octavio.
Police were to
serve the warrant in Waris’ house in Purok Buaya-Buaya, Barangay Kalanganan 2
when the shootout occurred. The police were backed by elements of the Army’s
Special Forces Battalion.
Octavio said
upon seeing the lawmen at past 6 p.m., Waris pulled his cal. 45 pistol and
fired at the police, triggering a shootout.
Octavio said
Waris belonged to Kitab Extortion Group and gun-for-hire syndicate operating in
the city.
Relatives
immediately claimed Waris’ remains for burial according to Islamic tradition.
