Cops kill drug suspects, arrest Maguindanao village chair in illegal drugs

COTABATO CITY – Three persons, all suspected of
illegal drug activities, were killed in separate police anti-drug operations
here, in North Cotabato and Tacurong City Friday, police authorities said.
In Cotabato City, Sukaren Demalanes Mokamad alias
Ado , 46, was shot dead by police after he resisted arrest during
anti-illegal drug operation along Mabini Extension, Barangay Bagua 3, Cotabato
City.
Chief Inspector Lorenzo Henares, police station 1 chief, said
the police were to serve search warrant against Anton Mendoza and his brother Sajid
Mendoza.
The brothers were out of their homes when the police arrived at
about 5 a.m. However, two armed men who were inside resisted arrest and shoot
it out with authorities.
Mokamad was killed while his companion, Zainudin Angkay was
arrested. Seized from Mokamad was a cal.
45 pistol with ammunition while Angkay yielded a hand grenade and shabu.
In Midsayap, North Cotabato, police killed Ramil Gumaga, 35 of
Barangay Kapinpilan.
Police raided a Pensionne House in Barangay Sadaan at 4 p.m.
Friday to arrest Gumaga. However, he
opened fire on approaching lawmen and anti-narcotics agents, according to Chief
Inspector Relan Mamo, acting town police chief.
Seized from Gumaga were three large sachets of shabu worth
P75,000 and cal. 38 revolver.
In Tacurong City, police operatives killed
a suspected illegal drug pusher and arrested two others, including a village
chairperson of Maguindanao Friday afternoon in Barangay New Isabela, Tacurong
City.
Killed was Jack Kamilan who fired at
arresting police officers. Arrested were
Edwin Guiamelon, chairperson of Barangay Midpandacan, SK Pendatun town in Maguindanao
and Mohammad Upan, of the same village.
Another
suspect, Bong Lataban, eluded arrest. Seized from them were firearms, drugs and
paraphernalia.
