Cops file charges vs. alleged illegal drug pusher

KORONADAL CITY - Police authorities in Sto Nino, South Cotabato have filed charges Tuesday against one of the six suspects arrested during a buy bust operation over the weekend.Chief Inspect Joel Fuerte, Sto Nino police chief, said only Muzid Alamada, 22 of Barangay Ambalgan, Sto Nino, South Cotabato was officially charged for violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act due to strong evidence against him.Fuerte told Happy FM-Koronadal that the court recommended no bail for Alamada.During the raid,Sto Nino police seized about 116.3 kilograms orP1.3 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride,locally known as 'shabu' from the house of Alamada.Fuerte said the seized items, contained in two huge packs and four smaller sachets, have an estimated market value of P1.3 million.Fuerte said he was hopeful for a speedy prosecution because of strong evidence against Alamada while charges against the other suspects are still being built by police investigators.
