Cops dismantle shabu drug den, arrest 6 in Cotabato City
COTABATO CITY – Police arrested here six persons including a suspected drug den
operator and sibling of a police officer during simultaneous law enforcement
operations in two villages Wednesday morning.
Armed with 16
search warrants issued by the local courts, police operatives, backed by the
Army’s Special Forces and led by Senior Inspector Tirso Pascual, police station
4 chief and Chief Inspector Efren Salazar, police station 2 head, raided the
house of Ali Sanday in Barangay Rosary Heights 8.
Pascual said
Sanday’s home had been converted into a drug den with shabu pushers coming in
and out to hit the stuff.
During the
raid, Sanday’s mobile phone had been receiving text messages and calls from his
clients informing him they were coming to score a shabu.
You have
heard it, his mobile phone kept ringing and receiving messages about illegal
drugs, Pascual said as he pointed to small sachets of shabu kept in every
corner of the house.
Among those
arrested were drug users who came in to buy a sachet or two.
I could not understand
the police woman did not know what her brother is doing in their own home,
Pascual said. Don’t tell me you do not know your sibling is into illegal drug,
he told the off duty police woman who remained unidentified in the report.
The suspects whose
identities were not immediately available were hauled to police station 2 lock
up cell while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared
