Cardinal Quevedo to ordain 2 Cotabato diocesan clergy

COTABATO CITY
(Sept. 1/NDBC) – Starting tomorrow, the Archdiocese of Cotabato will have two
more priests once they are ordained to priesthood by his Eminence Orlando B.
Cardinal Quevedo, OMI tomorrow.

The most
memorable day for Reverend John Angelo Gordillo Gamino and Rev. Andrean
Paruhinog Francisco will take place Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate
Concepcion Cathedral

The light has
shone in our hearts and we make known the glory of God shining on the face of
Christ” (2 Cor 4and6) is the theme chosen by two deacons as they prepare to
commence their priestly life.

After their
ordination, Rev. Fr. Gamino will have his thanksgiving mass on September 3, Upi,
Maguindanao, while Rev. Fr. Andrean Francisco will celebrate his on September 7
at 8and00 a.m. at the San Blas Parish, Pigcawayan, Cotabato.

Rev. Gamino is
from Nuro Upi, Maguindanao. He finished his elementary years at Nuro Central
Elementary School, and graduated from high school from Notre Dame of Upi in
2004, eventually entering the Notre Dame Archdiocesan Seminary (NDAS).

Gamino studied
philosophy at the Notre Dame University, Cotabato City, then proceeded to study
at the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Cagayan de Oro City.

He was
ordained to the Diaconate at San Agustin Metropolitan Cathedral in Cagayan de
Oro City on November 19, 2013.

As deacon, he
served at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

In the
Archdiocese of Cotabato, he served in the parishes of Lebak, Banisilan, and in
Libungan, his current diaconal assignment.

He also took
up a teaching ministry at the Fr. Saturnine Urios University where he was
assigned as a teacher for Christian Living and as a high school adviser.

Born to Noel
Norman Gamino and Gina Gamino on August 1, 1987 and the eldest among his
siblings, Gamino shared he is determined” to become a priest because his real
interest is theology.

Mother’s
inspiration

Rev. Andrean
Francisco who is from San Blas Parish of Pigcawayan, Cotabato, is the youngest
son of Angelo and Nilda Francisco. He said his mother was the one who
inspired” him to become a priest.

Born on
November 3, 1984 at Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, Francisco took up his elementary
education at the Salaman Central Elementary School and his secondary education
at Lebak Legislated National High School. He entered the
NDAS and started studying Philosophy at the Notre Dame University in 2001. He
then proceeded to the Regional Major Seminary in Davao City for his theological
studies.

After graduating
from the major seminary, he started teaching at the Notre Dame of Parang, Inc.
He was ordained to the Diaconate on May 27, 2013.

As deacon,
Francisco served in several parishes in Rosary Heights, Lambayong, Banisilan,
Alamada and Tacurong City. (NDBC)
