Car catches fire in Koronadal City

KORONADAL CITY - A private sedan car went on fire while traversing the city to Tupi, South Cotabato highway, police and car owner said.Manuel Solitario, 29, owner and driver of Mitsubishi Galant car with license plate GCY-730, said he and three other companions had just performed a band show in front of Koronadal City Mayor Peter Miguel's home and were heading for home when the car caught on fire.Solitario, a resident of Alabel, Sarangani,said as they reached an ascending portion of the highway in Barangay Saravia at 2 a.m., the car suddenly stopped and smoke billowed out from under the dash board, forcing them to alight quickly.He suspect something wrong with the old car's electrical wiring that triggered the conflagration.Nobody was hurt in the incident.
