Brownout to continue in Kidapawan City, N. Cotabato 2nd district
KIDAPAWAN CITY - Brown out will continue to hound allt he residents of Kidapawan City andNorth Cotabato's second district due to limited power supply the Cotabato Electric Cooperative (Cotelco) is getting from power providers.Vincent Baguio, Cotelco spokesperson, said rotational power outage will continue, affecting residents with one or two hour brownout a day.The reason, Baguio said, was the shutting down of two power plants owned by the Aboitiz Power in Davao region.On August 26, the plant operations ofTherma South Incoporated (TSI) in Davao City. Normal operations are expected Tuesday.On Friday, an unexpected shut down due to mechanical problemof Therma Marine Incorporated occurred in its Unit 1.Baguio said information provided by theMindanao Regional Control Center (MRCC) showed that the cylinder No. 8 of TMI experiencedLow Fuel oil Temperature, thus the temporary shut down.To date, Cotelco only receives 18 megawatt from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines. Baguio said the power rationing in Cotelco area of franchisewill continue as long as the two power plants could not resume full operation.
