Bahay Maria, DSWD-12 receive PhilHealth-12 assistance

KORONADAL CITY - TheCotabato Bahay Maria Foundation and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-12)Home
for Girls received at least P1.2 millioneach from Philhealth XII during the soft
turning-over of Philhealth Run proceeds, officials today said.With 7,167 registered runners last February 15,
2015, Philhealth XII has raised more than P2.4 millionsufficient enough to satisfy the
wish lists of its chosen beneficiaries.

In

Youth in conflict with the law with facilities and equipments coming from
Philhealth and now here in Koronadal, we have the Home for Girls where we will
be receiving again from Philhealth,” Bai SoarahaydaTaja, DSWD-12 regional director,said.

Temporarily housed in one
facility were young women who are abused, abandoned, victims of incest,
physically maltreated, sexually abused, exploited, strandees”, deportees,
unwed, sometimes persons with disabilities, stow away and mentally challenged, Taha said. We are hoping to have a new building for them from South Cotabato Gov.

donation worth more than P1-M for their elder residents.

With the money that was given out of the PhilHealth Run, I could say
that no amount of words can express the gratitude that we feel and this I will
speak to my fellow priests in Cotabato City with the sense of pride that you
have recognized the need of our residents,” Torreto said.
