DIGOS CITY - For the third time in two weeks against the same bus company and in third province, suspected New Peoples Army rebels torched another bus, this time in Davao del Sur, the military said.Two YBL bus, a bus company owned by the Yap family, were also set on fire by suspected NPAs in Sarangani Province and South Cotabato.The burning Saturday was reported in the Davao City-bound Yellow Bus Lines unit (Number 1088 from Tacurong City), particularlyin Barangay Kanapulo, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, a known communist infiltrated province.According toCol. Ronnie Felix Babac, 73rd Infantry Battalion commander, five men, posing as passengers,flagged down the bus at about 8 a.m. along portions of Davao-Cotabato highway, particularly near the border of North Cotabato and Davao del Sur.As the bus was moving toward Bansalan, the gunmen ordered bus driver Ariel Dalagan to divert toward the secluded area about two kilometers from Barangay Kinuskusan in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.In the secluded place, the driver and his conductor Deonard Katipunanto alighted along with about 10 passengers.Robert Sumagaysay, a passenger from North Cotabato, told and//www.ndbcnews.com.ph www.ndbcnews.com.ph the gunmen told the passengers they will not be harmed and that they were only after the bus.The suspects fled towardBala, Magsaysay,Davao del Sur.On Wednesday, suspected NPAs torched a YBL unit, the second bus attacked by NPAs, in Barangay Katubao, Kiamba, Sarangani province.Supt. Romeo Galgo Jr, speaking for regional police based in Gen. Santos City, said nobody was hurt in Kiamba incident. As in previous attack, the suspects directed passengers to alight.On Nov. 13, suspected NPAs also torched a YBL unit in Barangay Kablon, Tupi, South Cotabato.
