NORTH COTABATO --- Gunmen shot dead a villager and wounded another in an attack late Thursday in Pikit town in this province.

The 27-year-old Steve Mark Delamide died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

Personnel of the Pikit municipal police are still trying to identify the gunmen who shot with assault rifles Delamide’s house in Sitio Pogpog in Barangay Poblacion, Pikit in an attack that resulted in his death.

Dilamide’s brother, Jake, 25, who was wounded in the incident, was immediately rushed to a hospital by responding barangay officials for treatment.

There has been a spate of killings in Pikit since early this year, mostly vendetta attacks related to clan wars sparked either by politics, land disputes, or affronts to family pride and honor.
