AEWs awards signs of good govt'-agri sector cooperation - official
KIDAPAWAN
CITY – The recent awards and recognition received by 10 North
Cotabato Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) was a clear indication of good
relationship and effective coordination of the provincial government and the
Department of Agriculture (DA) in Region 12, officials said today.The
Outstaning AEWs from North Cotabato received the awards during national
awarding ceremonies held in Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City over the weekend.

Eliseo Mangliwan, North Cotabato provincial agriculturist, said the awards were
indications of concrete cooperation between the provincial government and the
agriculture sectors.
Mangliwan
said the most recent awards have added up to previous awards and recognition
received by the province’s groups and individuals representing the agriculture
sector.
Of
the 10 AEWs, eight were from Alamada town namely Danilo Puno, Ellafe Lopez,
Jocelyn Ragonton, Lily Flor Balos, Maria Eden Barredo, Rolando Erese, Shiela
Marie Asinas and Henie Pusta. The two
others were Elizabeth Salao of Carmen town and Delina Abellanida of Midsayap.
They
received P20,000 cash each, medals and plaques, Mangliwan said.
These
workers were recognized by DA through the National Quality Corn Achievers Award
because of its contribution in corn production.Just
last month, North Cotabato reaped national awards. The Don Bosco Multi-Purpose
Cooperative of Mlang was awarded as Best Small Farmers Group Category in the National
Organic Agriculture Awards.
North
Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Mendoza said the dedication and commitment of the AEWs
led them to be recognized by the national agriculture office.Mendoza
said the awards gave more enthusiasm to the provincial government to further
improve and increase its services to the agriculture sector with North Cotabato
being a highly agricultural community.
