60 small and medium entrepreneurs to join DTI tarde fair
KORONADAL CITY - At least 60 micro small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the region are expected to participate in the Regional Trade Fair of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 12. The four day activity dubbed as Treasures of Region 12 will showcase local products from various places in SOCCSKSARGEN region. This wil be held in SM Mall in General Santos City from November 13 to 16. Dorecita Delima, DTI 12 assistant regional director, said 60 booths will be available for products display. Ten of these booths are intended for representatives from the fisheries sector while 50 will be utilized for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises,” Delima told DXOM FM Koronadal City Friday. To help the MSMEs improve the quality of their products and increase their productivity, the trade and industry department will also conduct free skills training on trendy beads making, pinasugbo making, special tamarind and sweet potato candies making, siomai and vegieballs making and buko and pineapple pie making. Because of limited slots, we will accommodate interested entrepreneurs on first come, first serve basis,” Delima said. Delima said DTI 12 is planning for the yearly conduct of the regional trade fair toboost domestic trade for the regions MSMEs, We would like to institutionalized an annual trade fair for the region were we are going to showcase new products that are conceptualized by the local producers plus the consultants whom we are going to hire,” Delima said.
