4 month old baby miraculously survived in Koronadal highway crash

KORONADAL CITY -- A 4-month old baby miraculously escaped unharmed in a highway mishap here Tuesday afternoon that left five persons injured, traffic investigators said.Involved in a 3:30 p.m. crash along the national highway in Sitio Bagong Silang, Barangay Carpenter Hill were a Toyota Hi Lux pick-up with four passengers and a Kia Bongo cargo truck loaded with mongo beans, according to lady traffic investigator SPO1 Johanna Heradora.She identified the injured victims in Toyota pick-up as Rachelle Mondoniedo, 41 (driver), his wifeNessel, 43, and two children, aged 10 year old and 4 month old, all residents of Barangay Sadaan, Midsayap, North Cotabato.Injured in Bongo truckwere Guiamal Malok, 20 (driver) of New Isabela, Tacurong City and Guiamadel Salahudin, 20, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat. The victims sustained minor injuries and out of the hospital except the 10 year old child who remained in the hospital, Heradora said.According to investigation, the Mondoniedo family was heading to Midsayap from Glan, Sarangani where a wedding anniversary was celebrated while the Kia bongo truck was en route to Gen. Santos City when the crash happened. The pick-up's air bag save the lives of the passengers, Heradora said.Photos below show the crash site and the damaged vehicles.
