2 Mandaluyong City cops filmed abusing 2 civilians now in Marawi to fight Maute
COTABATO CITY – Two cops from Mandaluyong City caught on video maltreating two men
at gunpoint and hitting them with a stick are now in Marawi City to face the
Maute terrorist group.
Chief Supt.
Reuben Sindac, police regional director for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
(ARMM), officially turned over today Police Officers 1 Jose Tandog and Chito
Enriquez to Senior Supt. John Guyguyon, Lanao del Sur acting police director
for deployment to Marawi City.
Few days ago Tandog
and Enriquez accosted two men for drinking liquor on the street in Mandaluyong
City and hauled them to the police station.
A video caught
Tandog and Enriquez mauling and hitting the two men with a rattan rod. Tandog even pulled his gun and threatened to
shoot one of the two men.
But the
victims filmed the brutality and uploaded into the internet and went viral.This made PNP
Director Gen. Ronald dela Rosa fuming mad on top of the administrative and criminal charges against them.In the video,
Tandog repeatedly challenged the suspects to fight so he can shoot them.
The two who
readily obliged Dela Rosa’s order to be sent to Marawi City arrived at Camp SK
Pendatun in Parang, Maguindanao and reported to Chief Supt. Sindac.
They will form
part of the police force fighting militants in Marawi City. (Edwin O.
