2 armed men hurt in Midsayap shooting
MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – Two armed civilians were shot and wounded by still unidentified
gunmen in a remote village of here Monday night, police said.
Supt. Reynante
delos Santos, Midsayap police chief, said the shooting incident occurred in Barrio
7 at about 7:30 p.m.
He said
Suharto Endayla, 30, resident of Barangay Pigcawaran, Alamada, North Cotabato
and Penarma Kamid, 34, of Barangay Malinaw, Midsayap, also in North Cotabato
were walking when unidentified men riding tandem on motorbike opened fire on
them.
The victims
were also armed but failed to fire back.
Delos Santos could not say why they were armed and whether they were
licensed or not.
Delos Santos said
both sustained multiple gunshot wounds in various parts of the body and were
rushed by responding villagers to a hospital in Poblacion Midsayap.
Delos Santos
said the motive of the incident remained unclear but initial investigation
indicate it was a case of personal grudge between the suspects and the victims.
He said
investigation is still on going.
